Patient Information
Emergency Care
If you have a dental emergency outside our normal opening hours, please telephone the practice number and an answer phone message will provide further information.
NHS patients can call NHS 111 as NHS England is responsible for out-of-hours emergency care.
Your Dentist
At this practice we adopt a teamwork approach to caring for your dental health needs. It is our policy for each patient to see one dentist on a continuing basis and you can express a preference for which dentist you will see. We will make all reasonable efforts to ensure your request is met, but this may not always be possible. Should you wish to express a preference for a practitioner, please state who you would like to be seen by when booking your appointment.
Missed Appointments
Missing appointments can waste precious time and resources which are needed for other patients. Our practice policy is that if, on more than one occasion, patients cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not attend an appointment, then we will no longer be able to offer NHS treatment. We will, of course, take any special circumstances into account when making this decision. We may still be able to offer private dental care, but will require a non-refundable deposit.
Your Safety and Infection Control
As a caring, responsible practice, we take all necessary precautions to safeguard both patients and staff against infection. We have an infection control policy and follow the recommended guidelines regarding the sterilisation of instruments and the use of disposable items. If you would like further information regarding our protocols, please ask to speak to one of our senior dental nurses.
Confidentiality
We take your confidentiality extremely seriously and you can rest assured that all personal information will be stored securely and can only be accessed by relevant members of staff as part of your treatment. No information will ever be released to a third party without your express permission or when required by law. We have a strict code of practice and we can also give you more information about your rights to see your patient records – just ask at reception.
